Cook the tri tip steak for about 10-15 minutes or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness - 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare, 145°F (63°C) for medium. Remove the skillet from the oven and transfer the steak to a cutting board. Allow it to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
