After more than 22 years of abandonment and looting, Bridoire is now restored and inhabited year-round. Today it is the liveliest site in Bergerac with its 15 furnished rooms on 3 levels, its stables.

By the time we visited Chateau de Bridoire we had seen a number of chateaux. Bridoire was different and had so many personal touches that it stood out against the others. It felt more homely and interesting. Well worth a visit. We loved the skeletons climbing up the walls outside the chateau. Kids would love this bit.

The Chateau de Bridoire is a 12th century castle in Ribagnac near to Bergerac in the Dordogne which has recently been renovated and opened to the public. As well as the rooms renovated and decorated as they would have been in previous centuries the castle has also installed hundreds of games ranging from giant chess to grass-skiing and archery making it an excellent destination for families.
